These vents are automatic float operated valve configured so that built up air from the piping system can be released while system is working and under pressure.  Valve cover has a ½” N.P.T. plugged connection which can be fitted with a manual valve to lower start up time during filling.  The body is made from cast iron with a stainless steel float and seat assembly which protects the unit from corrosion.
